FOR ANY AGES

Tuesday this week we were visiting Nordkraft. We got information about and took pictures of the old generating station. We also asked two people, a visitor and a worker at Nordkraft, some questions.

The visitor was a older woman. She often uses and enjoys coming at Nordkraft and makes use of the theatre, Teater Nordkraft and sometimes the art cinema, Biffen. She likes the cultural environment and means that Nordkrafts sights are for any generation.
We also asked a worker at Nordkraft, a middle age man. He works at KUL, a culture house with a café, a music venue and workshops. He sees many ages every day at Nordkraft and also several tourists. He has the impression that people enjoy the artistic environment and options at Nordkraft.
We often use Nordkraft; in the cinema and the music club Skråen. We just like spending time there and thinking the raw environment is cool. At Nordkraft there’s also a university section and fitness centre that draw us and other youngsters.

This is evidence that Nordkraft is for any ages; youngsters, middle ages and the old-types. Nordkraft is for everybody.

THE ORIGINAL THOUGTS ABOUT NORDKRAFT

This picture show you, how the architects imagined how it would end up. They took a really big chance by renovating the old fabric. But there was a reason. The name Nordkraft, has been mentioned  a lot of places. Nordkraft is the name of a book, a theatre play and a movie. And since it has been mentioned in all those places, the builders took the chance and renovated the old Nordkraft, and for 5 years (2007-2012) the renovated the old building and now it has a storey areal on 30.500 m2
But why didn't they make it like they imagined? - The reason is that when they renovated Nordkraft, they went beyond their sum of money, and they didn't have enough money to do everything that they wanted to build in Nordkraft, and therefore a lot of these things there are on the picture, are things that you aren't able to find inside Nordkraft.

NORDKRAFT ON TOUR

Nordkraft is an assembly point for a lot of possibilities fx. there is many Cafés, a Cinema, a Theatre, Fitness center, and a few stores. You can take your whole family there, because there is something for everybody, wether you're like sport, theatre acts, movies, art or even just architecture. If you visit Nordkraft in the school holidays, is there always some special activities, and most of the time it's for free.

The inside of Nordkraft have a very rough-looking feel to it,but when you look at the outside, it is made so that it would fit into Aalborg. But if you look carefully you can definitely see that it is the old building that they have renovated the old Nordkraft industry building. But we think that they have made the old and the new, fit very well togethter, and its looking really good, when you go inside the building.

What are you using Nordkraft as? - Movies? Theatre? Or maybe something different?
